Information Minister to patronize conference on media, challenges

Manama, Oct. 29: Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi tomorrow will patronize the first international conference titled (Media and Challenges faced by Arabian Gulf).

Gulf University is organizing the event amid the presence of prominent intellectual, academic, media and political Arab figures to review the challenges faced by the Gulf States in light of international political and media transformations.

 

Gulf University President Dr. Mohannad Al Mashhadani said the escalation of events and the rapid changes resulted were the main reason for holding the conference to focus on the role of media in confronting challenges faced by the Arab region.

Head of the Conference Preparatory Committee, Dr. Abdullah Al-Tahir, said the conference will center around four themes, media and security challenges, media and economic challenges, international media and Gulf issues, in addition to Arab media and digital media content industry at the Arab and international levels.

He called on media professionals, students and academics to attend the event.
