Manama, Jan. 9: Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi stressed keenness on boosting the intellectual and cultural creativity movement and highlighting artistic, dramatic and theatrical activities in various mass media. He also underlined keenness on reflecting the GCC and Arab identity, pointing out the ongoing comprehensive achievements in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Information Minister was speaking as he received today the Board of Directors of Awal Theatre, led by artist Anwar Ahmed Bukamal. He lauded the efforts of national theatres in preserving the kingdom’s heritage and promoting the artistic and cultural movement. He underscored the Information Ministry’s support to artistic creations in coordination with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA). He pointed out coverage of the 12th edition of the international Awal Theatre Festival which will be held from February 3 to 12 and include seven local, Arab and international theatrical shows.
President of Awal Theatre Anwar Ahmed expressed thanks and respect to the Information Minister for his unflinching support to artistic competencies and national young talents. He also praised the minister’s keenness to foster partnership between art, culture and media so as to project the civilisational image of Bahrain in regional and international gatherings.
