Information Minister attends Media Talent Award 2023 conclusion

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Information Minister, attended the closing ceremony of the Media Talent Award 2023.

The event held at the Cultural Hall was attended by officials and members of the press and media.

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, congratulated the Media Talent Award 2023 winners and wished them continued success in developing their media skills.

He stressed that the award and its accompanying programmes- including intensive training, showcased promising media talents in Bahrain; which he hoped would contribute to the development of the media sector in Bahrain.

The intensive training programme aimed to enhance the chances of achieving professional ambitions in the media industry, Dr. Al Noaimi added.

The Minister of Information expressed gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), for supporting media initiatives.

He expressed gratitude to the team in charge of the training programme, praising its efforts in providing participants with professional expertise and skills in audiovisual media work, thereby enhancing their capabilities in this area.

The minister awarded the Media Talent Award 2023 to the winners Munira Aqeel Al Sheikh won first prize in the Arabic language preparation and presentation competition, followed by Jassim Khaled Al Jassim and Rabia Ibrahim Al Balushi, Ahmed Atef Ashour won first place in the English language preparation and presentation competition, followed by Kikelomo Atinuke Oparah and Iman Ahmed Faqihi.

The winners expressed gratitude to the Minister of Information for providing them with a unique opportunity to develop and enhance their media talents.

They highlighted the rich experience of immersing in the media industry, learning about modern trends, and interacting with specialists.

They added that the award allowed to explore opportunities in the media sector and the potential for professional development, helping them determine their future career paths in the media scene.

The Information Ministry and Tamkeen have partnered to launch the “Media Talent Award 2023” to identify young Bahraini media talents in preparation and presentation.

The award aims to enrich audio and visual content and qualify them for the local and regional media market.

This year’s edition focused on presenting radio and television programmes both inside and outside the studio.

The competition included two competitions in Arabic and English.

The Minister of Information handed over the prizes to the winners of the Media Talent Award 2023.

The first prize in the competition in the field of preparation and presentation in the Arabic language was won by Munira Aqeel Al-Sheikh. Jassim Khaled Al-Jassim, and Rabia Ibrahim Al-Balushi wins second and third place.

As for the second competition in the field of preparation and presentation in English, first place was won by Ahmed Atef Ashour, Kikelomo Atinuke Oparah came in second place, and Iman Ahmed Faqihi came third.

The jury shortlisted the top 30 applicants, who underwent an eight-week intensive training programme, culminating in the presentation of a final project and the announcement of the winners.
