Yousef Mohammed AlBinkhalil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, participated in the 104th regular session of the Arab Permanent Committee on Information, held in the State of Kuwait.
Undersecretary AlBinkhalil said the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation reflects its firm commitment to supporting joint Arab media action and enhancing coordination and integration among Arab countries in the media field. This, he noted, contributes to developing Arab media discourse and keeping pace with the rapid changes in the media and communications sector at regional and international levels.
He highlighted that this approach reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, underscoring the key role of the media in serving Arab causes and supporting comprehensive development across Arab countries.
The meeting discussed several agenda items, including follow-up on the implementation of Arab media action plans within their institutional framework, developing mechanisms to regulate digital media, enhancing media professionalism, supporting purposeful messages and responsible content, and reviewing initiatives aimed at coordinating Arab media positions on issues of common interest.
Undersecretary AlBinkhalil commended the efforts of Kuwait in hosting the session and its supportive role in advancing Arab media cooperation. He also expressed thanks to the General Secretariat of the Arab League – Media and Communication Sector, and the Executive Office of the Arab Information Ministers for their continued coordination and cooperation to strengthen integration and enhance the Arab media system.
