Information Minister hails HM King’s support for Bahraini Journalism

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, the Minister of Information highlighted the significant development of Bahraini journalism at all levels, in line with the outcome of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The minister said this progress also reflects His Majesty’s keen interest and support for national journalism.

Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted the substantial support provided to Bahraini journalism by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, enabling it to perform its national role effectively within professional standards. He praised His Royal Highness’s support for national journalism and his dedication to recognising and encouraging journalists through launching awards aimed at fostering creativity.

The Minister’s remarks came in a statement to mark World Press Freedom Day, observed annually on May 3rd, and Bahraini Press Day on May 7th. He extended his congratulations to journalists and media professionals, wishing them further success.

Dr. Al Noaimi emphasised the importance of World Press Freedom Day as an annual occasion to celebrate national journalism and its noble mission in serving the nation. He acknowledged Bahraini journalism’s essential role as a vital partner in the comprehensive development process under the leadership of His Majesty the King.

The Information Minister lauded the message of His Majesty the King marking the occasion, noting that it provided insights that inform the work of the press and media in Bahrain. Expressing his sincere appreciation, Dr. Al Noaimi noted His Majesty’s high regard for Bahrain’s Ministry of Information and media sector workers. He described His Majesty’s commendation as an honour, underscoring the increased responsibility to continue efforts in alignment with His Majesty’s aspirations and vision.

Dr. Al Noaimi also highlighted the significance of designating Manama as the Capital of Arab Media 2024, a testament to Bahrain’s regional and international status in media. He attributed this achievement to His Majesty’s steadfast guidance and royal patronage, as well as the continuous support from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He stressed that Bahraini journalism, with its commitment to fundamental journalistic values such as objectivity, credibility, and integrity, has set an exemplary approach. It provides reliable media content aimed at advancing society, preserving its safety and cohesion, and expressing Bahrain’s reality and rich cultural heritage.

Dr. Al Noaimi concluded by acknowledging the steadfast dedication of Bahraini journalists across generations, who contribute to deepening knowledge within society and defending its highest interests.
