2.What is the difference between the duties of the Ministry of State for Information Affairs (MSIA), the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) and the High Authority for Media and Communications?
Ministry of State for Information Affairs (MSIA): the official entity that sets policies and legislations, and oversees the media sector and its activities. It also represents the media sector before the Cabinet and the legislative authority.
Information Affairs Authority (IAA): the executive body for the media sector in Bahrain. It operates the official media outlets (Radio, Television, News Agency), it also implements the policies issued by the MSIA.
High Authority for Media and Communication: an independent entity that suggests rules and regulations necessary to upgrade the professions of media and communication. It also sets standards for monitoring media and adverting content in different media and communication outlets.
