Information Minister attends 28th GCC information ministers’ meeting in Kuwait

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, participated in the 28th meeting of the Ministers of Information of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held in the State of Kuwait. The meeting was chaired by Abdulrahman Baddah Al Mutairi, Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs.

The minister underlined the importance of advancing Gulf media integration and developing shared platforms using modern technologies to keep pace with rapid developments. He said this aligns with the vision of the leaders of the GCC states and meets the aspirations of their peoples.

Dr. Al Noaimi emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting joint GCC action, including in the media sector, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He highlighted the role of Gulf media institutions in consolidating frameworks for constructive media cooperation and reinforcing the shared values and principles that unite GCC states. He also emphasised the need for continued coordination among member states and the implementation of effective initiatives that address current regional priorities.

Dr. Al Noaimi added that the fast-changing global landscape requires a unified Gulf response that enhances media content and supports the development of national talent capable of producing responsible and meaningful media reflecting the Gulf identity, values, and achievements.

The ministers discussed several key topics on the agenda, including proposed initiatives under the GCC Strategic Plan for Joint Media Cooperation 2023–2030, covering radio, television, news agencies, and digital media. They also reviewed means to apply modern technologies and artificial intelligence in producing creative content that reflects the region’s shared identity and highlights its ongoing development.
