Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, participated in the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, held at the headquarters of the Arab League (AL) in Cairo.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of AL; Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector, and Arab ministers of information and heads of delegations.
During the session, Dr. Al Noaimi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty’s wishes for the success of the Council’s work in supporting the development of Arab media. He also conveyed the appreciation of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the efforts of Arab ministers and officials in strengthening joint media cooperation and developing its tools to keep pace with current developments.
He noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role in leading the 54th session of the Council and hosting the previous meeting under the patronage of His Majesty the King reflected the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting joint Arab action. He added that Bahrain’s approach, guided by the vision of His Majesty, focuses on promoting integration among Arab states and advancing shared objectives that meet the aspirations of Arab peoples.
Dr. Al Noaimi said that, during its leadership of the previous session, Bahrain worked to reinforce cooperation and highlight the outcomes of the Bahrain Summit, which was endorsed by Arab leaders. He emphasised that coordination among Arab states is essential to maintaining regional security and stability and maintaining achievements that serve collective interests.
He expressed his appreciation to the Arab Republic of Egypt for its reception and commended the efforts of the AL Secretariat in preparing for the session and ensuring the smooth conduct of its proceedings. He also wished success to the Syrian Arab Republic, which is chairing the current session, in its efforts to advance Arab media cooperation.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Dr. Al Noaimi met Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of AL. He expressed appreciation for the Secretary General’s support for the Council during Bahrain’s leadership of the previous session, noting that this support consolidated joint media work and enhanced the Council’s effectiveness.
The minister also thanked the AL Secretariat, represented by the Media and Communication Sector, for its cooperation and commitment to improving Arab media performance. He highlighted the important role played by AL in supporting joint Arab action and commended the Secretary General’s efforts to promote coordination among member states.
