Information Minister attends final of Commentary Star competition

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, attended the final episode of the Commentary Star competition, organised by Bahrain Sports Channel as part of the Creators Lab initiatives and the Media Talent Award of the Ministry of Information, in cooperation with Tumooh Sport Management and Gulf University.

Dr. Al Noaimi emphasised the ministry’s commitment to adopting high-quality initiatives that support young national talent and provide opportunities to develop their skills and highlight their creative potential, advancing their presence across various media domains, particularly sports media.

The Information Minister commended the competition as a leading platform for discovering promising sports commentary talent, noting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s growing sports sector and the importance of preparing national media professionals capable of keeping pace with this development. He also honoured the competition’s sponsors, the judging panel and the top three winners.

On their part, the participants expressed their appreciation to the ministry and Dr. Al Noaimi for the continued support given to such initiatives. They also commended the trainers for sharing their expertise and guidance, which enriched their experience and helped develop their skills, enabling them to contribute to the sports and media sectors in Bahrain.

The competition attracted 50 male and female contestants, who were shortlisted through several stages to five finalists, from whom three winners were selected.

The programme also included training courses and workshops in sports commentary, refereeing and tactics, as well as the use of artificial intelligence applications in sports commentary.
