Manama, Nov. 30: Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi congratulated Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, on receiving the Personality of the Year Award 2018 and being honoured by the US-based Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E. International).
The Information Minister stressed that the award granted to the Interior Minister underlines success of Bahrain’s policies to protect the community from violence and addiction and combat drug abuse through awareness programmes. He described the honour as a high profile international recognition of the Interior Minister’s efforts to combat violence, addiction and drug abuse through “Ma’an” programme which is carried out by the Interior Ministry at Bahrain schools. He added that the award reflects Bahrain’s comprehensive growth under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
