Information Minister receives lawmakers

Manama, Jan. 10: Information Affairs Minister and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has lauded the existing “effective” partnership between the executive and legislative branches in consolidating the development and democratic marches and in serving the nation and the citizens during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

While receiving here today the Representatives Council’s Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee member, MP Mohammed Isa Al-Abbasi, and Public Utilities and Environment Committee member, MP Mohammed Khalifa Bu-Hamoud, the minister expressed his appreciation for the legislative and supervisory role played by the Council of Representatives.

Al-Romaihi expressed delight at the “honourable” representation of many media competencies in the elected Council of Representatives of the Fifth Legislative Term, being qualitative addition to the responsible parliamentary work.

The media competencies’ election to the Council of Representatives strengthens Bahrain’s pioneering status as a role model for political and democratic reform, and youth empowerment in various regional and international diplomatic and parliamentary gatherings, he said.

The two lawmakers expressed thanks and appreciation to the Information Affairs Minister for his interest in developing the media and communication sector legislatively and technically, and in preparing national competencies.
