Four tenders to operate radio stations to be launched

Manama, Apr. 17 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi has announced the ministry’s tendency to launch four tenders this year through the Tender Board for the private sector to manage and operate four radio stations for five years. The move is part of the ministry’s keenness to boost partnership between the public and private sectors in upgrading media work.
The Information Minister affirmed that the ministry is about to finish launching the public tender on managing and operating the first frequency as a first step that will be followed by tendering three other frequencies this year on the national radio waves. He called on companies wishing to compete for leasing the radio broadcasting licence to prepare their offers and submit them to the Tender Board to avail of the frequency spectrum as well as administrative and technical facilities provided by the ministry.
