Information Minister participates in Global Media Congress 2024

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, participated in the opening ceremony of the third edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC 2024), held in the United Arab Emirates, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

The event was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, with the participation of leading thinkers, experts, and specialists in the media sector from around the world under the theme “Vision, Empowerment, Interaction.”

The third edition of the Global Media Congress 2024 features participation from more than 170 countries, over 200 speakers, and leading global companies specialising in the media industry. The event is organised by ADNEC Group in partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted Bahrain’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthening international cooperation in the media sector. He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to fostering strategic media partnerships, emphasising the need for enhanced communication and collective efforts amid global challenges and rapid advancements to ensure the media fulfils its role responsibly and effectively.

He praised the UAE’s success in hosting this global event for the third consecutive edition, noting that the achievements of previous editions reflect the congress’s value as an opportunity to showcase global media trends, exchange expertise, and develop strategic visions to support and advance the media sector.

Minister Dr. Al Noaimi also highlighted the importance of the key topics addressed during this year’s sessions, including challenges related to media credibility, digital transformation, global security issues, urban leadership, and the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence. He expressed hope that these discussions would contribute to the development of media performance, its mechanisms, and innovative strategies to address global changes, challenges, and modern technologies.

During the opening ceremony, Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to advancing the media sector through cooperation. He described the GMC as a global platform for building partnerships, creating opportunities, exploring media transformations, and addressing challenges in a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by new platforms and technologies.
