Information Minister: UN adoption of Bahrain’s initiative reflects its commitment to tolerance and peaceful coexistence

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, emphasised that the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s initiative to designate January 28 as the International Day for Peaceful Coexistence reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence among nations and cultures.

The minister noted that this approach is implemented across government policies and programmes under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted that this milestone reinforces Bahrain’s esteemed global standing and its recognised contributions to international peace and coexistence efforts. He noted that the initiative builds on Bahrain’s longstanding commitment to advancing tolerance and coexistence through pioneering initiatives on the global stage.

The minister underscored Bahrain’s unique model of coexistence, rooted in a rich historical legacy and an inclusive society that embraces diverse cultures and civilisations. He affirmed that Bahrain’s efforts to share this message through constructive initiatives reflect its continued commitment to fostering global peace and stability.

Dr. Al Noaimi further noted that establishing an international day for peaceful coexistence presents a valuable opportunity to strengthen global efforts in addressing shared challenges, promoting peace, and reinforcing human solidarity. He expressed confidence that the initiative would contribute to greater understanding, dialogue, and collaboration among nations.
