Information Minister discusses cooperation with DERASAT

Information Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman
of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) Ali bin Mohammed Al
Romaihi praised Bahrain’s pioneering achievements in the media, cultural and
academic fields. He lauded the kingdom’s initiatives to promote the culture of
peace and dialogue between civilisations, religions and cultures in the
prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Information Minister was speaking as he received today Board of
Trustees Chairman of Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy
Studies (DERASAT) and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for International
Affairs Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The meeting
was attended by the centre’s Board of Trustees member Dr. Ahmed Hashem
Al‑Yushe.

The Information Minister discussed joint cooperation mechanisms to serve
Bahrain’s vital interests and boost the kingdom’s status in regional and
international gatherings. He congratulated the Board Chairman and members
of DERASAT on the royal trust and on boosting independence of the centre
in performing its missions and submitting periodic reports to the Foreign

Ministry as per royal decrees 5 and 6 of 2017.

The Information Minister discussed programmes to boost partnership between
the Information Ministry and DERASAT in raising awareness of political and
security issues, holding joint functions and promoting cooperation in
conducting researches and studies as well as gathering and analysing data to
serve decision‑makers and back the national efforts to foster regional and
international peace and security.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah hailed the Information Minister’s efforts to develop
national media and back research and academic activities of national centres
and institutions. He also lauded the minister’s keenness on joint cooperation
to promote Bahrain’s pioneering status as a model of democratic and human
development and boost values of tolerance and peace locally and
internationally within the framework of the reform project of HM the King.
