Minister of Information, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, participated in the 20th session of the Arab Media Forum which was held in Dubai, the UAE, under the patronage of the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.
The event was attended by Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, His Highness Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and saw the participation of more than 3000 Arab and international leading media figures, editors-in-chief and senior authors and intellectuals working in the media field.
The Minister of Information took part as a keynote speaker in the forum’s main session held under the theme “Arab Media-Changes and Influence”. Chairman of Egypt’s Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Karam Gabr, also participated in the session which cast light on a number of issues including the effect of technological development on the media sector, the role of modern technologies, like artificial intelligence, in preparing for radical changes in the media field, disclosing information and news and the Arab opportunities in this respect.
Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi underlined the significance of having a comprehensive media strategy with three main chapters: Providing an advanced media infrastructure that adopts the latest technologies, caring for the gifted in the media field through a resilient organizational and legislative environment, and adopting a responsible and influential media message supporting stability, growth and prosperity.
The Minister of Information pointed out the importance for the media institutions to provide a good and comprehensive content and avail of the advanced infrastructure in braving challenges. He also affirmed the need for the Arab Media to adhere to responsibility and provide an influential message that respects the concept of the national state and adopts a moderate discourse calling for unity and cooperation in all fields.
