Information Minister visits renowned Bahraini media figure Hasan Kamal

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, the Information Minister, visited renowned Bahraini media figure Hasan Kamal in his house.

The visit came in recognition of his journey in media, culture and art through the posts he had held.

The minister commended the tenure of Hasan Kamal at the Information Ministry, where he had founded a unique style in radio programme production and hosting, enriched by his outstanding skills and creativity.

Dr. Al Noami said that Kamal’s talent and professionalism when he joined the radio in 1959 has always been memorable, alongside his distinguished work in poetry and prose.

“We take pride in Mr. Hasan Kamal and all Bahraini media pioneers, who have always been a role model by their dedication and devotion to their work; thus, engraving their names in the progress of Bahraini media,” the minister said.

Dr. Al Noaimi affirmed the ministry’s support for gifted Bahrainis of all generations, and its keenness on presenting them as exemplary models from whom Bahraini youth working in the media learn how to adhere to professional values and ethics, and dedication as indispensable factors that drive success and creativity.

On his part, Kamal thanked the minister for his visit, affirming that it reflects Bahrain’s appreciation for its citizens in all sectors.

Kamal expressed his happiness and pride in the time he had worked in the Information Ministry, wishing national media further success and development.

Kamal was born in Manama, in 1942. He had begun working in the music sector in Radio Bahrain in 1959, and progressed in his career until he became the director of the Radio Bahrain Direction during 1980-1988.

He then became director of Culture and Arts at the Information Ministry, after which he held the position of Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature.

Kamal made generous contributions to poetry and lyrics writing.
