Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, today chaired the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, in the presence of Majri Mubarak Al Qahtani, the Director-General of the Gulf Radio and Television Organistion (GRTO).
The meeting focused on the ongoing arrangements and preparations for the 16th session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, set to be hosted by the kingdom, in addition to the agenda, and accompanying events of the festival.
The Information Minister stressed the kingdom’s keenness to ensure that this year’s festival will be more successful than previous editions, given its importance in enhancing media integration among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted the importance of the event being hosted by Manama, the Capital of Arab Media 2024, as it stimulates competition among GCC artists, creative people, and media production companies, as well as state and private channels.
The festival also provides an opportunity to exchange ideas, expertise and experiences, which contributes to improving the GCC artistic product and enhancing its ability to highlight the growth and development witnessed by the GCC countries at all levels, he said.
The Information Minister commended the efforts made by GRTO Director-General to enhance joint GCC media action, citing the strategies, plans and programmes he has implemented to develop GCC youth media competencies, enabling them to present a media message that reflects the civilisational image of GCC countries.
Majri Mubarak Al Qahtani expressed thanks and appreciation to the Information Minister for his support for the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, praising the kingdom’s interest in the artistic, cultural and media sectors, as they are among the pillars of its development process.
He also voiced GRTO’s appreciation of the efforts being exerted by Bahrain to ensure the success of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival since its inception, contributing to strengthening its regional and global presence.
