Information Minister commends role of national press in promoting unity in Bahrain

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Minister of Information, met with local newspaper editors.

He highlighted the esteemed status achieved by Bahrain’s press through its commitment to journalistic principles and integrity, noting the support it receives through Bahrain’s legal framework, constitution, and National Action Charter.

He added that this commitment contributed to Manama’s recognition as the 2024 Arab Media Capital.

Dr. Al Nuaimi commended the professional standards upheld by the national press, and its role in providing reliable news and balanced opinions that contribute to supporting Bahrain’s development and maintaining its achievements.

He emphasised that the press’s progress has made it a key partner in Bahrain’s comprehensive development under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with ongoing support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The minister commended the national press’s role in communicating Bahrain’s message amidst regional challenges, which reflects Bahrain’s solidarity with Arab causes and its dedication to global peace and unity.

He highlighted the unity within the Bahraini society and the importance of maintaining national awareness and responsibility.

Addressing the shift toward digital media and artificial intelligence, he acknowledged the steps taken by Bahrain’s press institutions to embrace digital advancements, modernise platforms, and enhance professionalism, lauding the sector’s Bahraini talent.

Dr. Al Nuaimi reaffirmed his support for national press in its role to echo the aspirations of Bahraini society and contribute to the nation’s ongoing development and prosperity.

He expressed his wishes for success in their future initiatives supporting Bahrain’s progress.
