Youth patriotic role highlighted

Minister of Information Affairs and President of
Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al
Romaihi, has asserted that innovative Bahraini youth who are loyal to their
country and its wise leadership are the nation’s pride and its true wealth, the
mainstay of its progress and prosperity, a key partner in its developmental
process and present the honorable urbane image of our beloved Kingdom of
Bahrain in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

In his ‘Open Meeting with Youth Participants of the 8th Edition of Youth City
2030’ at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Al Romaihi
expressed his trust that youth do shoulder their national responsibility of
serving the nation, in safeguarding its security and stability, maintenance of
its capabilities and preservation of its cultural and civilizational identity, within
the frame of upholding the spirit of good citizenship and the values of
forbearance and respect, shunning extremist ideologies, tackling suspicious
electronic media campaigns that incite violence, terrorism and extremism and
reject any external interference in the kingdom’s domestic affairs.

Al Romaihi said that defending the nation and the Arabian Gulf is the
sanctimonious duty of the citizen, entrusted to responsible, enlightened
Bahraini youth who embrace their Gulf, Arab and Islamic identity, stressing
the need not to be tempted into defamation of the others, especially via social
media networks, and to defend the nation in the manner that befits the
longstanding history of Bahrain, its culture and civilization and without been
impacted by the others’ provocations or defamatory campaigns.

The minister reiterated his keenness on motivating Bahraini youth to develop
their creative, productive talents and energies and to engage in the private
and public sectors’ media developmental programmes. He affirmed the
ministry’s keenness on organizing additional specialized training
programmes and courses in cooperation with the national and international
media and academic institutions, the latest of which was follow up of the
implementation of the agreement signed with “Tamkeen” regarding the
Professional Media Training Programme with participation of 100
media‑aspirant Bahraini alumni.

During his tour inside Youth City 2030, the minister met with several
participating youth and exchanged with them viewpoints regarding their
suggestions and aspirations

The minister praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al
Khalifa the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and
Youth Affairs and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee citing HH Shaikh
Nasser’s pioneering initiatives in supporting youth empowerment through his
kind patronage of these programmes.
