Information Minister presents National Day Cup, commends Bahrain’s equestrian achievements

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, presented the National Day Cup to the winner of the fourth round during the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) races, supported by the Ministry of Information.

The event was held as part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of its National Day, commemorating the establishment of the modern Bahraini state as a Muslim Arab state by its founder Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the throne.

The Minister highlighted the Ministry’s annual participation in this race as a gesture of national pride, loyalty, and belonging. This year’s race held special significance, coinciding with the Silver Jubilee marking 25 years of His Majesty the King’s reign.

Dr. Al Noaimi praised His Majesty the King’s leadership in preserving and advancing equestrian sports as a vital part of Bahrain’s heritage and identity. He also commended the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to elevate horse racing and pass on this legacy to future generations.

The Minister lauded the efforts of REHC, led by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the REHC High Committee, in organising world class races that have positioned Bahrain as a global hub for equestrian sports.

Dr. Al Noaimi congratulated Ibrahim Al Afoo, owner of “Sovereign Spirit” from Al Afoo Racing, for claiming first place in the fourth round of the National Day Cup race
